The designing of the bus terminal at Jaipur has been a challenging task, which is at the edge of
the city Jaipur and the site is dissected by a 100 feet road. The main aim was of amalgamation of
various disparate dependant programs and at the same time segregating different kinds of movements on site. And the climatic condition were also an important factors. The splitting of the site
has been used in such a way by allocating the larger site for the main bus terminal and the other
part is integration of commercial complex, mall, RSRTC office, the reservation window and the
main access for the outgoing passengers. Design form has emerged about after conducting various site study and case studies of various international bus terminal. We have tried to adopt a
fluid design concept, inspired by the dessert landscape of Rajasthan. The form is transpired from
the idea of aerial erosion present in such hot and dry climatic condition. We have tried to introduce dynamic interaction into the traditional architecture of the city.
